Introductions with Icons
The past few years I've been using the numbers & icons activity to introduce myself to students and encourage them to introduce themselves as well. I explain that we'll each share four things about ourselves by representing them with either a number or an icon, with a brief definition of the word "icon". I show my own example and have the students guess what each item represents about me, including a slide of pictures for each of my icons/numbers.
Then it's their turn! Students draw icons or numbers to represent themselves, then they can either take their paper to others and guess what each other's items represent or use their paper as a tool when introducing themselves to others.
